Throughout the Word of God there is a common theme of destroying strongholds of the enemy. It is our job as the Body of Christ to be ever vigilant in the bringing down of said strongholds and making them places of worship to the One True God.
Every stronghold or idol that is worshipped other than our Creator is a mockery to his perfect Love. If not for the mercy and great patience and persistence of His Love we would not be here as we are, free.
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). The strongholds spoken of here are both places that can be found on a map, and within ourselves individually.
There are a multitude of things in our lives and in the world around us that fit the definition of coming against the knowledge of God.
These things can range from the micro, such as our own pride or selfishness, to the macro which are things like politics, economics and nations. The good news is that we have been given weapons that demolish these strongholds both micro and macro. We have been given heavenly weapons of offense and defense that we must become intimately familiar with in order to resist the devil and ravage the armies of hell for the Glory of God (Ephesians 10:6-17). We must not let our armor rust or our swords become dull for lack of use or proper care lest we desire to fall to the whims of the enemy and give territory to those that seek our very destruction. All believers have been called to destroy the high places of the enemy and strategic places in ourselves individually, our families, cities, institutions and nations. “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places” (Numbers 33:51-52).
In Macau we went with our hearts bowed in humility to Abba, excited to be a part of the army of the Lord of Hosts to pull down the strongholds of the enemy, replacing them with altars of worship in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24).
The Holy Spirit led us around the island to worship in the Joy of the Lord at places He deemed of strategic importance. Many principalities were represented there, each as “The thief who comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). The Victory Lives within us however and those places of deception got a taste of the divine weapons of heaven, feeling the sharp blade that is the Sword of Truth of He who “has come that we may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). As we raised these altars of worship in spirit and in truth, the Spirit of God led us to prophesy against the spirit of gambling and addiction that makes people like zombies, which is so prevalent among the visitors of this Island full of casinos and resorts. He then led us to release the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Just as Yeshua raised Lazarus from the dead, so it shall be for so many people in Macau. Lastly, we prophesied the raising up of the generation of the Lion of the tribe of Judah here that will bring a wave of the Holy Spirit in Revival to the island. “Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed” (Revelation 5:5).
Every day we wake up and decide to serve the King of Kings with all of our heart, we are tearing down the strongholds of the enemy. Even when you feel like you are on the defensive against the wiles of the enemy, you are winning a great victory for the Kingdom of God. Every time you repent of your sins and receive the promise of the Blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, the plans of the fallen kingdom of darkness crumbles to dust. Wake up! Strap on your armor, take the Sword of Truth in your hand and make the enemy wish they had never raised a hand against you or spoken curses over your life. “Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, And lift them up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in!” (Psalm 24:8). The Lord strong and mighty is your strength! It is time to move forward in the Unity of the Body of Christ and watch the ranks of the enemy retreat in haste! Prophecy victory over your life, your family, your workplace, your town, your city, and your nation in the Name Above all Names, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
